About Couch Club
A small website for the moment when people are together and someone says “let’s play something”.
What it is
Couch Club has two games. Team charades runs on one shared phone, tablet or laptop: it deals the prompts, runs a fair clock, hands the phone from actor to actor without showing the next prompt to the room, and adds up the score. Quick Quiz is a private trivia room: one screen shows the questions and everyone answers on their own phone. There’s nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.
What it doesn’t do
No accounts, no chat, no photos and no adverts. Couch Club never asks for your camera, microphone, location or motion sensors, and you never hold the phone to your forehead. Charades works offline after the first visit; a quiz room needs a connection.
The prompts
All 240 prompts are original text written for Couch Club in October 2026, in six packs of 40, plus a First game pack made of the 36 easiest prompts from those packs. None is copied or adapted from another charades list, game or website.
Every prompt was reviewed against four checks before publishing:
- Family-friendly: no violence, romance, alcohol or crude jokes, and nothing scarier than a cartoon haunted house.
- Inclusive: no jokes about anyone’s body, age, gender, disability, nationality or religion; job titles work for anyone.
- Understandable: plain English that most players know, with no film or TV titles, brands, trademarks or famous people.
- Actable: each one can be acted without speaking, without props and without touching other players.
A build check also rejects duplicate prompts, overlong text and a list of words that don’t belong in a family game. Prompt IDs never change, so saved matches keep working when wording is improved. Content version 1, released 2026-10-18. Spotted a prompt that could be better? Tell us at support@twindle.nl.
