Remember these games? Prove it.

PC classics, console favourites, gaming firsts: ten questions at a time on the games many of us grew up with. Every answer explained and checked.

The daily ten starts on Monday 26 October: ten questions a day, the same for everyone.

Packs

Each pack is one corner of gaming history. A run is ten questions; you won’t get a question twice until you’ve seen the whole pack.

How it works

Ten at a time

Four choices per question. Tap one, or press A to D. The answer and a short explanation follow straight away.

Practise your misses

At the end you see a dot for every question. Go through the ones you missed again, or start another run.

Checked, not guessed

Every question comes from at least two sources, re-read by a server before it goes up. Each answer credits the ones that were confirmed.

Questions

Game Club is a small, honest quiz: careful facts about old favourites, nothing to sign up for.

How to playSources

What is Game Club?

A free quiz about the video games many of us grew up with. Each pack is a set of multiple-choice questions on one corner of gaming history; a run is ten questions, with the answer and a short explanation after each one.

How does a run work?

Ten questions, four choices each. Tap an answer or press A, B, C or D. You see straight away whether you were right, with the answer explained, then move on. At the end you see how many you got right, a dot for each question, and the option to practise the ones you missed.

Will I get the same questions again?

Not until you’ve seen the whole pack. This device remembers which questions you’ve had, so each new run brings fresh ones; once a pack is used up, the questions are mixed up again.

What is the daily ten?

Ten questions a day, the same for everyone and in the same order, changing at midnight UTC. Share your dots and compare with friends. Past days stay playable in the archive; future days open on their day.

How are the questions checked?

Every question is researched from at least two sources, such as the studio’s or publisher’s own page, museum records and contemporary reviews, and a server re-reads the pages to confirm the facts are there before a question is published. Each answer credits the sources that were confirmed.

Why no box art or screenshots?

Game Club draws its own pictures: a beige monitor, a floppy disk, a cartridge, a joystick, a gamepad, a trophy. It isn’t connected to any game, studio or publisher, and uses their names only to ask and answer the questions.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Free, no account, no ads. Your runs, the questions you’ve seen and your best result are kept in your own browser.
