The duel opens first in a practice round of ten; practice never changes your daily streak.
Why it surprises
Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain and one of the most famous peaks in the world, a snow-capped volcano rising alone above the plains of Tanzania. Standing on its own like that, it can look every bit as mighty as Everest, which is surrounded by other giants of the Himalaya. But in elevation above sea level the difference is large. Kilimanjaro’s summit reaches about 5,895 m; Mount Everest’s reaches about 8,849 m, almost 3,000 m higher, about one and a half times as high. Being the highest point of a continent says nothing about how a mountain compares with peaks elsewhere: many mountains in Asia, K2 among them, are higher still. This duel compares summit elevation only, not how far a mountain rises above the land around it.
