Does Kenya have more people than Argentina?
Yes. Kenya has more people than Argentina: about 57.5 million against 45.9 million (World Bank estimates for 2025), 1.3 times as many.
Kenya is also more crowded: 99 people per km² of land against 16.8.

Why it surprises
Argentina is one of the largest countries in the world, eighth by land area in our deck, stretching far down the length of South America with about 2.7 million km² of land. Kenya has about 581,000 km², less than a quarter of that. Yet Kenya has more people: about 57.5 million against 45.9 million in the World Bank’s 2025 estimates. A country’s size on the map is not a headcount. The two countries are also settled very differently: Kenya has about 99 people per km² of land, Argentina about 17, so much of Argentina’s land is thinly populated. Kenya ranks 26th in the world by population in our deck and Argentina 35th. In a duel between the two, the much smaller country on the map wins comfortably, by about 12 million people.
