Is an adult blue whale longer than an adult male orca?
Yes. A blue whale, at about 25 m, is longer than a male orca, at about 8.5 m: about 2.9 times as long.

Why it surprises
Orcas, also called killer whales, are top predators that hunt seals, sharks and even other whales, and that reputation can make them seem bigger than they are. An adult male orca is about 8.5 m long, with large males reaching about 9.8 m, while a typical adult blue whale is about 25 m from nose to tail. So the blue whale is about three times as long as a male orca. Despite the name, orcas are the largest members of the dolphin family rather than one of the great whales. Orcas also differ from one population to another, with different types varying in size, diet and behaviour, so one reference length cannot describe every individual. Even the largest orca would still be dwarfed by an ordinary adult blue whale.
