Is the Brooklyn Bridge older than Tower Bridge?

Yes. The Brooklyn Bridge (opened 1883) came 11 years before Tower Bridge (completed 1894).

Both dates on one time ruler: Brooklyn Bridge, opened 1883; Tower Bridge, completed 1894.

The duel opens first in a practice round of ten; practice never changes your daily streak.

Why it surprises

Tower Bridge, with its Gothic stone towers beside the Tower of London, looks centuries old, while the Brooklyn Bridge feels like part of the modern New York skyline. So it is easy to guess that the London bridge is the older one. It is the newer of the two. The Brooklyn Bridge opened on 24 May 1883; Tower Bridge was completed and opened on 30 June 1894, eleven years later. Tower Bridge’s medieval look is a costume: underneath the stone cladding is a steel framework, and the stone helps protect that steelwork. Both bridges are triumphs of nineteenth-century engineering, built within a few years of each other. Appearance is a poor guide to age; the opening dates settle this duel, and the American bridge is the elder.
