Basil has baked his entry for the harvest show: a plaited loaf as big as a cartwheel. Lena popped in with the café order and Kit was helping behind the scenes. Then someone noticed the loaf was a slice short.

What happened

The show loaf was sliced a day early at the front counter, with the bread knife.
