Every February, Fernley’s anglers line the pier to see who can catch the biggest fish before noon. Jonah, Felix and Basil all entered. When Jonah, the favourite, comes back from a cup of tea, he has nothing to fish with.

What happened

At the pier end, the favourite’s fishing rod was borrowed and cast out.
