The Bare Treetop
Fernley switches on its winter lights tonight. Dev has the countdown written out on a card, Iris is keeping thirty children out of trouble, and Jonah came straight from the boat to lend a hand. Ten minutes before six, somebody looks up and notices that the big tree has lost its star.
What happened
Someone climbed the stepladder in the town square and took the star down from the tree.
