The salon on Fore Street dresses its window dummy for every season, and in January it wears a splendid auburn hairpiece. Iris, Kit and Cora all had appointments on Friday. On Saturday, the dummy stands in the window, bald as an egg.

What happened

In the stockroom, the curly wig was packed into a shoebox.
