Calm: big, clear and unhurried
One switch makes our classic games easier on the eyes and the nerves: large cards and text, strong contrast, no clock, no scores and no streaks, sounds off and nothing that jumps about. The rules stay exactly the same.
Turn Calm on with the switch, or in the settings of any game below.
Calm is kept in this browser only, for every No Fuss game on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere. What Calm changes
- Large cards, tiles, numbers and letters, and text of at least 22 pixels on the screen.
- Strong contrast: dark text on a light page, or light on dark if your device is set to dark mode.
- No clock and no move counts, scores, points, best times or streaks on screen.
- Buttons at least the size of a fingertip, with their names written out where there is room.
- Sounds start off (you can turn them back on), and cards and tiles move without animation.
- Undo and hints stay wherever the game has them. Sudoku starts on its gentlest level, word search on its easiest grid and jigsaws with fewer, bigger pieces.

Setting up a tablet for someone else
A few minutes on their tablet, phone or computer, and the games are ready whenever they want them.
- Open this page on their device (nofussgames.com/calm) and turn on Calm with the switch at the top.
- Pick a game or two from the list above and tap Play with Calm on. Play a round together so it feels familiar.
- Put the game on the home screen. On an iPad or iPhone, tap the Share button in Safari (a square with an arrow), then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open the Chrome menu (three dots), then Add to home screen or Install app.
- Make text bigger if it helps. Calm already uses large text. For even more, look in the device’s settings under Display or Accessibility for Text size or Font size.
- Check the sound. Sounds start off in Calm. If they would like the soft clicks and chimes, turn Sound on in the game’s settings.
- Leave it be. Calm stays on until someone turns it off. There is no account to remember, nothing to buy and no adverts to tap by mistake, and games played once still open without a connection.

Questions
What is Calm?
Calm is one setting for our classic games: large cards, tiles and text, strong contrast, no clock and no scores or streaks on screen, sounds off and no animations. You turn it on once and every game listed here opens that way on the same device.
Does Calm change the games?
No. The rules, the deals and the daily puzzles stay exactly the same. Calm only changes how the game looks and what is shown: Undo and hints stay where the game has them, and some games start on an easier level or with fewer pieces, which you can still change.
How do I turn Calm off?
Use the switch at the top of this page, or the Calm switch in the settings of any of the games. It turns off everywhere at once.
Is anything stored or sent?
Calm is one small setting kept in the browser on this device (nfg:calm). Nothing is sent to us or anyone else, and there is no account. Clearing the browser’s data for nofussgames.com turns Calm off again.
Can I print puzzles in large print?
Yes. Every month there is a free ten-page large-print activity pack with Sudoku, word searches and a short quiz, answers at the back, as A4 and US Letter PDFs. Puzzle Desk also has a large-print Sudoku pack.
